Barasuara

Barasuara is a Jakarta-based indie rock group formed in 2012, comprising vocalist-guitarist Iga Massardi, guitarist TJ Kusuma, bassist Gerald Situmorang, drummer Marco Steffiano, and vocalists Asteriska and Puti Chitara. Their dual-vocalist arrangement creates harmonic textures that distinguish the band's sound within Indonesia's indie scene. Their debut album Taifun (2015) was recognized by jalurindie.com as one of the ten best Indonesian indie albums of the year, positioning them within the mid-2010s Jakarta indie rock wave that followed the post-Reformasi expansion of independent music infrastructure. Known for energetic live performances, Barasuara has appeared at major Indonesian music festivals. The band operates independently, maintaining full creative control over their production and distribution.
