Coldplay are a British rock band formed in London in 1997, consisting of vocalist and pianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, and drummer Will Champion. Their manager, Phil Harvey, is also credited as a full member. The band rose to prominence with their debut album Parachutes (2000), which achieved both commercial and critical success, followed by landmark releases including A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002) and X&Y (2005). Known for their anthemic melodies and emotionally resonant lyrics, Coldplay became one of the defining rock acts of the 2000s. Their live performances are celebrated for their visual spectacle and emotional intensity. The band has won numerous awards, including multiple Grammy Awards and Brit Awards, and continues to release new material while maintaining a massive global fanbase.
