Hindia

Hindia is the stage name of Baskara Putra, a Jakarta-based indie pop singer-songwriter who debuted in 2019 under Sun Eater Records. His debut album, Menari dengan Bayangan (Dancing with Shadows), released in February 2019, was well-received within Indonesia's indie music community. Hindia's sound blends introspective Indonesian-language lyrics with layered yet minimalist contemporary pop arrangements. He is recognized for his personal songwriting approach, often exploring themes of solitude, anxiety, and the search for meaning. The project emerged during a wave of Jakarta indie artists in the mid-to-late 2010s, when young musicians began building organic fanbases through digital platforms rather than traditional label machinery. Hindia has collaborated with producers and musicians in Jakarta's indie ecosystem, including Petra Sihombing and Matter Mos. He remains active, releasing singles and performing at Indonesian music festivals.
