Lyodra

Lyodra Margareta Ginting, known mononymously as Lyodra, is a Medan-born pop singer who rose to national prominence as the youngest-ever winner of Indonesian Idol's tenth season in 2020, at 16 years old. Prior to that breakout, she had won the A3 category at Italy's Sanremo Junior in 2017, an international children's singing competition. Lyodra's vocal range—particularly her command of the whistle register, the highest range of the human voice—became her calling card in both contests. Post-debut, she signed with Universal Music Indonesia and quickly accumulated accolades: Best Children Female Solo Artist at the 2020 Anugerah Musik Indonesia Awards, Best New Asian Artist in Indonesia at the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards, and a nomination for Best Southeast Asian Act at the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards. Her trajectory reflects the visibility Indonesian Idol still confers in the post-2010s pop landscape.
