Sore is a Jakarta-based indie pop band formed in 2002 by childhood friends Ade Firza Paloh, Ramondo Gascaro, and Awan Garnida, later joined by Bemby Gusti and Reza Dwiputranto. The group is notable for an unusual trait: all members are left-handed instrumentalists. Each member contributes vocals across their releases, creating the layered harmonies that define their sound. To date, Sore has released five studio albums and several compilations, establishing them as one of the most enduring acts from the post-Reformasi indie wave in Jakarta. Their collaborative approach — no single frontman, shared songwriting — reflects the DIY ethos that shaped Indonesian indie music in the early 2000s, positioning them as elder statesmen of a scene that prioritized collective creativity over star-driven narratives.
