Tenxi

Joan Pasha Syahputra, known as Tenxi, is a Jakarta-based rapper, producer, and musician active since 2023. A member of the ANTINRML collective, he is recognized for popularizing a fusion of hip-hop and dangdut dubbed "hip-dut," blending traditional Indonesian rhythms with contemporary urban production. Tenxi gained wider recognition with "Garam & Madu" (2024), a collaboration with Naykilla and Jemsii released as the second single from his collaborative album Puting Beliung. The track explores longing and doubt in romantic relationships, depicting emotions both sweet as honey and painful as salt. Released independently through AntiNRML, The Orchard, and HP Music, Tenxi's work represents a new wave of Jakarta rappers recontextualizing Indonesian musical heritage within modern hip-hop, expanding the genre's sonic boundaries in the country's urban music landscape.
