Stars and Rabbit

Stars and Rabbit is an indie folk duo from Yogyakarta formed in 2011 by vocalist Elda Suryani and multi-instrumentalist Adi Widodo. Known for their chamberfolk approach—pairing Suryani's delicate English-language vocals with richly textured acoustic instrumentation including ukulele, glockenspiel, and minimal percussion—they became a key act in Yogyakarta's post-2010 indie wave. Their debut album Constellation (2012) and sophomore release The Adventures of Owl and Goblin (2013) established them on the Indonesian festival circuit and earned attention across Southeast Asia. Man Upon The Hill (2015) saw the duo expand their production palette. In 2019, they released Rumpelstiltskin via demajors, continuing their signature blend of narrative, often theatrical lyrics with meticulous arrangements. Stars and Rabbit remain active, touring regionally and serving as a touchstone for Indonesia's indie folk scene.
